Landing a spot on the Family Feud stage is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make memories you and your family will cherish forever. And that’s not to mention the possibility of winning up to $100,000 and a brand new car!
But first, you’ve got to audition and catch the attention of our producers. Here are 6 tips for how to do just that from Sara Dansby, our very own co-executive producer and head of casting!
1 – Assemble your team
“There’s no such thing as too over-the-top. Pick the most outgoing members of the family when putting together your team. We love loud and energetic contestants. You can audition with a total of 6 people, and we’ll help you pick the best 5 for the show!”
2 – Submit an audition video
“If you really want your family to stand out from the pack, what you can do is include a video with your audition application. Aim for 3 to 5 minutes in length, introduce your family, be creative, and feel free to play a mock round of the game!”
3 – Be confident
“Whether you’re filming your audition video or attending a local tryout, try to be bold and assertive. We’re looking for high energy, but it all comes down to confidence. We need people who won’t freeze up on stage, so we can make an exciting show!”
4 – Tell your story
“We want to get to know you. So be yourself, and share your family’s story. If you have funny anecdotes, a big accomplishment, or a special talent, show it off! Those are the things America will relate to, and that’s exactly what we love and look for.”
5 – Know the game
“Aside from energy and enthusiasm, we also look for an ability to play the game and to come up with answers. If nothing comes to mind, don’t give up. You may think of something last second! And if you love the show for a specific reason, mention it!”
6 – Relax
“Last but not least, don’t forget to relax! Our audition process is not judgy, and we want to put you on the show. All you have to do is follow our directions, go out there, loosen up, and have fun with your family! Let’s play Feud!”
